Madison is going to start going to school one morning a week in September, so I started looking for a backpack. It seemed as if all I could find were ones that were way bigger than she was UNTIL I came across this cute Stephen Joseph quilted backpack. I loved it….so I ordered it!!!! It came in this week and I think Madison likes it too!! I can’t wait to see her on her first day of school!!

Lake Lure
This past week we have been in North Carolina at Lake Lure with Craig’s family. We thought we might be getting away from the heat for a little while, but it was just as hot up there. We rented a house on the lake and just relaxed most of the time. Monday we took the kids to a children’s museum and Madison had a blast. This museum was awesome!! Madison loved it all, but really liked the dentist room and the cafe. Yesterday, we took them to the beach on the lake where Madison loved just floating around in her car!!! Madison had a great time with her cousins this past week. She loved to try and keep up with them as they would run around and play. I took way too many pictures so here are just a few!!
* Madison at the Children’s Museum
* Dentist Room at the Children’s Museum (she loved this one-maybe she will be a dentist!!)
*Madison really wanted to be in puppet show!!
* Cafe at the Children’s Museum
*Bubble room at the Children’s Musuem

Sharing
Madison loves to share. I found her trying to share her snack this weekend with her squirrel(her best buddy). I wasn’t able to get to my camera in time to capture it, but it was so cute and sweet!! The next thing I know—she is sharing her snack with Woody. This, however, is not so cute because he now follows her around wanting all her snack. She loves it though and will give all her snack away if I let her!

Paper or Plastic??
Today Madison had her first MRI. They had to put her to sleep in order to get this done since it takes about 1.5 hours, which I was nervous about. Since they were putting her to sleep this meant that she could not eat breakfast, which I thought was going to be harder than it actually was. The hardest part for me ended up being when they were putting her to sleep. I just started crying when I saw her reacting to the anesthesia and fighting it. She did very well with the whole process and boy was she hungry when she woke up. When we got home Madison found her latest craze…….PLASTIC BAGS…. and was back to her normal self playing and laughing!! She will carry the bags around the house for HOURS!!! She looks so cute trying to carry them all at once. Cheap toys!!

First Hair Cut
Ok- So today was a big day for me….Madison had her first big girl hair cut and boy does she look cute!! We took her to Bangs & Bows (http://bangsnbows.com/) in Mt. Pleasant and she did GREAT (after 2 lollipops). Madison got to sit in a pink car for her first hair cut. I am really horrible with names and can not remember the lady’s name that cut her hair, but she was great!! She took some length off the back and shaped it up. She even used a round brush and blow dryer to give it some good shape!! I love it!! She looks like such a big girl now and I think she really loves her new look!! Here is a before and after shot.
Before: After:(Sorry about the finger up the nose—such a good shot of the hair though!!)
Lollipop#1- Just getting started
DONE!!

MESS!!
I call this a mess—Madison calls this fun!! I have never seen her playroom this messy. I think she has pulled out every bin and every toy. Two years ago this would have driven me crazy(just a slight neat freak), but now it is ok as long as she is happy and having fun!! I hope you can find Madison in these pictures :) So excited that tomorrow is Friday!! (PS Madison is getting her first haircut tomorrow—pictures to come later)

Happy 4th!!
This year was a little different for us. We usually are going or having a 4th of July party that involves lots of food and boating. However, there was one little problem this year--- we got really sick. Craig and I both started getting sick Saturday Night and boy do I mean SICK. We are not sure if it was food poisoning or a virus, but luckily Madison did not get it!! I really hope she does not get it because it was miserable. So with that said, we had a low key 4th of July. We went over to my parents house and let Madison play in her pool and cooked out!! It was nice to just sit back and recover!! Here are some pictures from the pool and of course Madison still loves that “Silly Face”!! Happy 4th of July!! and THANK YOU TO ALL THOSE WHO ARE SERVING OR HAVE SERVED FOR THE USA!!!
